Every season is a great time for a green salad because they are so healthy but sometimes it is hard to get the kids to eat them. I have a unique idea to make a green salad that the children, mine anyways seem to love and this is perfect for people on the Atkins Diet or Flat Belly Diet as well.
A pleasant green leafy salad overflowing with protein can be used as a quick meal or as a side dish and if done correctly it can be wonderful flat belly diet or Atkins diet salad.
Grab a bag of the salad express shredded lettuce from your local grocery store; since it is already precut, you just rinse it and dump it into a bowl. If your local grocery store does not carry this, you can shred a head of lettuce much the same way you could cabbage for coleslaw. It is a real time saver for busy moms who are eating healthier on the Flat Belly diet or Atkins Diet, or simply are teaching the kids to eat better.
You can add Atkins Diet friendly high protein foods like tuna, salmon, or even chopped ham and smoked turkey from the deli, hard- boiled eggs, black olives, and cheese. The addition of the black olives makes this perfect for the Flat Belly diet.
You can add chopped onions, peppers, mushrooms, carrots, radishes, or whatever other salad toppings you enjoy as well. This way your salad is perfect for the Atkins Diet or the Flat Belly Diet.
Pop a few slices of wheat bread into the toaster and toast it until it is a golden brown color. Atkins Diet will only allow you to eat whole grain breads for the wheat 'croutons' here is a wise choice and it won't wreck your Flat Belly Diet plan either.
After you have been on the Atkins Diet for a few weeks you can add a creamy dressing occasionally to your salad, but when you are on the flat belly diet it is best to use a flaxseed oil based dressing.
