Communities and key influencers can now get together and share their views through social networking. HotSoup identifies groups of people termed Opinion Drivers; these are the key people in a community that engage in deep and frequent discussions about the political scenes, agendas, and ongoing debates. Opinion Drivers in a community can influence and drive change, and participating online through the HotSoup platform means they can help shape public opinion even further.
HotSoup offers an attractive assortment of topics and areas on the site. Users can choose from ‘Hot Issues’, ‘Issue Loops’, ‘Breaking Now’, and ‘Lifestyle & Entertainment’. Each tab is located on the top of the screen, and the entire site itself is easy and efficient to navigate. The ‘Networking’ section is unique, as it simply lists a showcase of postings by each contributor; in two to three lines, a user can identify their key issues and stance. This serves as their profile page, and may be attached to an Issue Loop. Issue Loops are the ongoing opinions and discussions taking place, and are timely enough to be effective in finding out the latest scoop.
