3 Ways to Decorate Kids Room with Giraffes

Giraffes in a child's bedroom are a fun way to create a whimsical animal theme. You can decorate with giraffes so many ways that will create fun interactive details for the kids.

Whether you are working with wood giraffe art or stuffed giraffes, these looks will be perfect for decorating a kid's bedroom in a zoo theme, safari bedroom theme, or a simple love of giraffes theme!

Giraffe Bedroom Décor #1: Funky Floor Lamp

If you have access to a tall wooden giraffe or even metal giraffe that looks like folk art, then try turning it ion a lamp. You can use a premade floor lamp, then inexpensive kind found in most dorm rooms and add the giraffe to it.

Stand the giraffe right text to the floor lamp. Try to place him on the base if possible. Use ribbon to tie him to the lamp, this way he can be removed for play later. This is a great way to disguise an ugly floor lamp.

If your giraffe stands alone or is metal, then you can simply clamp a clip on or basket lamp kit on top. These simple clip on and are pre made. The cord hangs down and can be adhered to the body fo the giraffe to hide it. Add a lamp shade and you are finshed.

Giraffe Bedroom Décor #2: Giraffe Curtains

Now, for this one you will need to check out your local craft store for giraffe fabric. Look for the print typically found on the body. Use these to cut out some simple panels and hang them as curtains.

You can make the rod pocket for the giraffe curtains using a sewing machine, iron on fusible web, or even fabric glue. You will be amazed what this pop of giraffe print fabric will do to the whole feel in the room.

If you are creative you can cut the fabric out in the silhouette of the giraffe and hanger as a panel this way!

Giraffe Bedroom Décor #3: Giraffe Headboard

Finally, use a cartoon drawing of a giraffe head as inspiration to create your own headboard. Trace the lines or copy th felines onto a sheet of smooth plywood. Cut out with a jigsaw.

The kids can help color in the details just like a paint by number. Screws into the wall above the bed and you have a custom giraffe headboard perfect for a zoo themed bedroom. Be sure to sand any rough edges as needed.
