Dear Addict

Column 1, Issue 2

Hello Again.

Feels good to know your still no longer alone, doesn't it?

Because you're not, you don't have to do this alone, nor can you do this alone!

So, talk to me, to somebody, reach out.

email me www.dearaddict@gmail.com, or leave me a private message right here on my home page, I assure you these are private messages. Lastly, your welcome to leave your phone number and I would be more
 than happy to chat.

Your not as bad a person as you think. It is through sharing with another addict we learn there is always an addict who was much worse off than us and they're staying clean. So we can be also. But not alone. So, talk to me.

You are not your addiction. - You simply lost your way.
And hear me clearly:
You are not a BAD person trying to be good.
You are a SICK person trying to get better

DEAR ADDICT has one core mandate; to reach out to the addict and their loved ones who still are suffering as a direct result from the disease of alcoholism and drug addiction. Through each others experience, strength, hope and courage. Together we don't have to be alone. Along the way my other priority is to educate ourselves a little bit at a time regarding drugs, this disease, warning signs and treatments for addiction. But most importantly, to learn to laugh at ourselves, when appropriate.

I don't want to be clean if I can't have a sense of humor about my disease of addiction. The seriousness is already crystal clear through my severe consequences. Therefore a chuckle at some ridiculous past behaviors I believe is healthy. Besides it was our diseases' fault, not ours - love that one :-)

GUESS WHAT, all of you coming by, helps keep even me CLEAN.
So each of you have already helped one person today, ME. Thank you.

ya know alcoholics and drug addicts are quitters (I wish)but some actually have and some are going through detox right now. But here's the miracle - you reached out today, didn't pick up and chose to speak with another - You'll always have someone to talk to here. Thank you my dear
