Many people are turning into entrepreneurs to make money on the side to supplement their regular income. Others are being laid off and becoming entrepreneurs to make money to pay the bills and for the high price of gas. Whatever the reason that you might consider joining the forces of entrepreneurs; a handmade purse business is an excellent opportunity. With a little creativeness and determination, you can make a great deal of money with a handmade purse business. This handy guide will help you when you start your handmade purse business.

Select Several Designs for your Handmade Purses

There are so many different types of purses available on the market. It is best to select several designs for your handmade purse business. This will increase the types of customers that you will attract. However, you do not want to have so many designs that it is impossible to keep up with. The best goal is to have approximately three designs for your handmade purse business that you can easily make and are creative.

Buy Your Supplies Wholesale

One of the best ways to make the most money from your handmade purse business is to purchase your supplies wholesale. You can find fabrics, accessory items, zippers and more for a low price when you purchase wholesale. The more items for your handmade purse business that you can purchase wholesale, the lower prices you will be able to give to customers.

Remember to Save Receipts

There are many tax advantages to having your own business. Save the receipts for anything and everything that you pay for your handmade purse business. You should save receipts for advertising, materials to make the handmade purses, equipment you use and more. Talk to a tax advisor or accountant to determine which items you might be able to deduct as business expenses.

Love your article! I make and sell purses. Have been for a few years. I've sold mine in a boutique store and a antique shop. I do lots of special orders. Currently I'm working on a web site: bagzbybarbara.com. Actually, I'm redoing my site, so it will look totally different when I'm through. I find purse-making very rewarding. I love it when my customers love their purses! That brings me more pleasure than the money. If you have a passion for making purses, then you might want to consider starting your own business. But whatever you do, HAVE FUN!!

You must remember that in order to purchase wholesale you must have proof of business. In Maine we have to have a sales tax certificate through the state. Good article.
