Marche Taylor's night ended in a skimpy dress and handcuffs for this teen that was headed to the prom. Taylor didn't even make it pass the lobby before school officials told her that her dress violated the dress code.

prom, as reported by the Dallas Morning News.

I am the parent of a teen who is old enough to attend the prom at his school if another person sends him an invitation. The reason for the invitation policy is so that no one younger than the age of sixteen can go to the prom but if you are sent an invitation by someone and you are between the ages of 14 and 15, there is an exception that is made.

Being a parent and watching your children grow up before you eyes, is one of the most challenging things that I have done in my life. Prom isn't just about getting older and hanging out with your friends. For the girls, the prom is mainly about the dress and how everyone else will see them in it.

Get to know your schools dress code and policies. Every school year, the children are handed out a school policy book, read over it with your children and make sure that they understand the dress codes and the policies that the school has in place for them. The rules and regulations might have changes since last year so don't assume that you already know the rules.

Be the judge of the prom dress. If there is a reason that you don't like the prom dress tell your daughter why and ask her for her input on the reason.

Give her freedom but not too much. Once you have gotten to know the dress code, go ahead and let her pick out a prom but don't let her go overboard; there is usually room for compromise and you can often meet somewhere in the middle.

If you people can't see why this dress was inappropriate you need your heads examined. I'm not saying that I've never worn revealing clothes...but I have absolutely never done so at a school function. There's a time and a place. I love the dress, but that's not a dress you should ever even consider wearing to a school event. The school has to maintain a dress code appropriate to representing the school itself. Had she gone into that prom, she would have been not only giving herself a bad name, but the school as well. What do you think would happen if the parents of prospective students had seen that something like that was allowed into the prom? No. What she did was wrong. Save the dress for a place that you can wear it to, like a club.

You know, if the school hadn't given the girl a dress code for the prom before she ever bought her tickets - I might agree with ehr getting the money back. However, that child lied to her grandmother about the dress. Snuck out of the house before Grandma saw it. Then she threw a temper tantrum at the prom when she was told that *gasp* the rules applied to her too!!! Tough luck Marche.

It's a shame what some young girls are wearing these days, give them a few years, when they start having kids and they will feel so stupid that they ever wore some of the things they did. Parents need to take responsibilit for their kids. especially something like a prom dress where I'm sure some family member saw her leave for the prom.

I Know at times kids, I mean pre-adults all between the ages of 17 and older are very excited and anxious to get so much done for prom.A female of course, GIrls should be able to wear whatever they want to wear who are we to say they cannot. she as well as her grandmother paid for her dress and the dress did not come out as plan. The lady who promise and was paid to do the dress did not do as she was told so should she suffer for that? I say NO, the dress was not what she wanted but it was still BEAUTIFUL!!!!!! I F you ask me.
