Designing Herb Gardens are so easy because you really don't need much space to do it in. In fact, if you already have some other kind of garden growing in your yard you can plant little a herb garden in between what you are already growing.

If you decide that you don't want to make an herb garden in between the spaces in an existing garden, then you can design one in a little pot outside in a sunny spot near the kitchen. If you are designing an herb garden for culinary purposes you really don't need much space at all.

The amount you decide to plant depends on how you are going to use these culinary herbs. If you are going to use these herbs for immediate cooking purposes you really don't need to plant that much. However, if you are planning on using them later on and are planning on freezing them you will probably want to grow a lot more for freezing purposes.

You should consider buying large pots to plant in if you are going to use the herbs to make dyes or to make your own potpourri. Pick a sunny spot, but try to keep your herb garden near the kitchen.

I mentioned earlier that you can plant herbs in your vegetable garden and just grow everything together! One of the best herbs to grow in a vegetable garden is basil, coriander and dill. These three herbs are very easy to grow and don't require a lot of space for healthy growth.

You can also grow some herbs in a flower garden. I know that if you decide to plant your herbs with your flowers you're not necessarily doing it to make your flower garden look more attractive, but that is what ends up happening! The herbs just make your flower garden more lush and green. Some herbs that you might want to consider are lavender, dill and borage.

One of the great benefits of adding herbs into your flower or vegetable garden is that it will attractive the good kind of insects that will benefit your vegetable and flower garden. These insects help to pollinate your little garden better; they also help to keep away the insect that you don't want in your gardens.
