Whenever I am down or need comforting I find it in the Book of Psalm. This Book I believe is meant to bring us peace and the love of the Lord. Sometimes I will just sit here and play it on my computer so that I can feel the presence of the Lord. In fact my favorite Scripture is found in the Book of Psalm. Some may call it the law of attraction. It is really the blessings of God because of faith and trust in Him. He knows our hearts and He will bless us according to our faith. I want to share the very first passage that is found in the Book of Psalm.
1 Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.
To me this Scripture tells me that we are blessed if we ponder and dwell on good things. If we ponder on negativity, it can effect us. If we ponder on things of the Lord then we will be blessed or we are called blessed.
2 But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.
We are to meditate on the things of God and Godly things. We are to study the Word because it brings us peace. This next oone is another favorite of mine
3 And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.
YES!! We will prosper if we dwell on the things of God. We will be like a plant that is planted by the rivers of water. We will be grounded in the Word of truth. There is where we can hide and the King of King's will lower His wings to protect us.
4 The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff which the wind driveth away.
5 Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.
I think the main thing that the Lord is telling us is to not dwell with the ungodly and the sinners. Sin comes from the heart as well. Ungodliness is ugly. It is within the depths of the soul. The Lord sees these things and He alone knows our heart.
6 For the LORD knoweth the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish.
Again the Lord knows our hearts and the very depths of our soul. He judges accordingly. The ungodly will perish.
