Choosing between pumpkin and mincemeat can be a difficult choice when it comes to planning your thanksgiving menu. This has been a choice that has had to be made probably since the very first Thanksgiving. One of the easiest ways that you can combat this dilemma is to go all out and make them both!
People generally either love or hate pies. There really is very little in between unless you are the type that tolerates pie just once a year when asked to try some that a loved one has prepared. If you are blessed to be at or to host a thanksgiving dinner with a lot of guests, it is best to allow for the guests to choose what they would prefer to eat. If you choose to make both the pumpkin and the mincemeat pies you just cannot go wrong.
Many families have adopted their own holiday traditions. One of the traditions that are usually prevalent in just about every holiday gathering is the type of food or desserts that are served. You do not have to choose between mincemeat and pumpkin if you do not want to. You can choose to have a different kind of pie. You may want to have a fruit pizza or salad or a special kind of cookie. It is very important that as you plan your holiday menu, that you choose on something that will be a consistent tradition for years to come. This tradition will create great memories and bring the family together each holiday season.
You may choose to have everyone in the family bring a dish to share. You can even make eating your desert into a game by having pie eating contests or cake walks if you have a larger gathering. Each person may make the same thing every year or you can choose to mix it up and be adventurous.
