Shayne Dahl Lamas Wins the Heart of Bachelor Matt Grant

On Monday night's The Bachelor, bachelor Matt Grant finally made the long awaited decision of who to pick for his bride...Shayne Dahl Lamas or Chelsea Wanstrath. The tension has been high over the past few weeks as he has narrowed his choices. In the end, it was the lovely Shayne who won his heart for good.

But was Shayne the right choice for Matt? Or would he have done better by picking the more reserved Chelsea?

From the very beginning, Shayne has worn her heart on her sleeve, and Matt has always had an obvious fondness for her. But there were doubts, especially in the very beginning. Matt was a bit suspicious of Shayne's acting ambitions, and wasn't entirely certain that she was on the show entirely for the purpose of finding true love.

Chelsea, on the other hand, has always held back in showing her true feelings...not willing to make herself vulnerable enough to be hurt. Because of this, it took Matt a longer period of time to really get to know Chelsea. He knew that he was very attracted to what he did know of her, but he was never sure if it was quite enough.

During the past couple of episodes, Matt has had an opportunity to get to know both Shayne and Chelsea better. During this week's episode, both women had a chance to meet Matt's family and spend time on a one on one basis with the members. (Matt met both of their families in a previous episode, and it went very well with both families.)

Chelsea was the first to meet Matt's family, and they all seemed very pleased with her. Chelsea was very open with Matt's mother about her reluctance to make herself vulnerable knowing she could get terribly hurt if she was not the one Matt chose in the end. However, Chelsea did say that she knew she was going to have to open up and let Matt know her true feelings, or she would lose him. Later on, she did open up and admitted that she had fallen in love with him. He also said he was in love with her.
