I came across a report from the Fox News story that is reporting how these giant Burmese pythons are evading the everglades, and it sent shivers down my spine. There is documented proof of environmental workers finding one of these giant snakes that was 13 feet long whose belly was split open to reveal his last meal, a six-foot alligator.

When I seen that image years ago on the internet I thought it was fake, turns out it was real. If you click the link above or the link that follows this article you can see photographs taken of these Giant Burmese pythons, form your own opinions about this growing menace to society.

Giant Burmese pythons that can grow to be 30 feet long and 200 pounds are becoming a real nuisance in Florida, and worse yet these horrendous snakes could live other places around the United States. As a person who dislikes snakes with a passion this scares the stuffing out of me, and will no doubt keep me from venturing south again.

It seems that careless pet owners are allowing these giant Burmese pythons free in the Florida everglades when they become too big to handle and they are thriving out there! Yes, these most eat small birds, rats but there have been reports of them eating alligators, and I wonder if humans are next.

The environment within the bottom 1/3 of the United States is perfectly acceptable for these Giant Burmese pythons to not only live, but also to thrive says the US Geological Survey. I feel this is a real life horror movie in the making, what happens when the rats, birds, or other small game animals are gone?

The US Geological Society has a map of places that these Giant Burmese pythons can survive and it is unreal the amount of land which could sustain those snake populations, all of Florida and west to Texas and all those states in between Georgia, the Carolinas, Virginia, and huge portions of Utah, Nevada and California.

I don't understand why they'd evade the Everglades. Seems to be a nice place for them!

Now you have given me something new to worry about! But I don't think the rats will ever be all gone so in this case that might be a blessing. I think I am more afraid of rats and mice than I am snakes. At least the pythons aren't of the venomous variety. Very nice article.
