American Idol Ranking of the Final 3

Well, we are down to the final 3 contestants on American Idol. It won't be long before we know who the next American Idol will be. David Archuleta, Syesha Mercado, and David Cook will keep us entertained as the pressure rises for each contestant.

From the very beginning of the season, David Archuleta was spoken of as being the front runner. Though he is young, he is able to sing practically anything and he always seems to be able to connect with the audience. There is something about the shy boy with the humble smile that appeals to the audience. Perhaps it is the fact that he doesn't seem to be on a huge ego trip like many previous contestants. David Archuleta has a very powerful voice and a wide range.

David Cook is the other David who started off without making a huge impression, but ended up jumping into the lead. What sets him apart from David Archuleta is the way that he takes huge risks and makes every song his own. He has wowed the audience time and time again to the point that the audience waits in anticipation just waiting to see what he will do next. He is already a star, regardless of whether he wins American Idol or not.

Syesha Mercado is the surprise in the final 3. Week after week, she has squeaked by without getting voted off. She is one that nobody really expected to last this long. The judges often have very mixed reviews about her performances, and until recently, had not performed anything really remarkable. In the past couple of weeks, though, Syesha has found her niche in singing Broadway or show tunes. She seems the happiest and the most comfortable in singing these songs and she does a great job.
