As the warm weather arrives, we all want to wander outside and soak up some rays from the sun. Families head outside for picnics, baseball games, and cookouts, but do they remember the sunscreen? Well, my family forgot ours on a recent trip to Kings Island amusement park. Not wanting myself to look like a lobster, or the kids to get burned from the sun, we opted to purchase some sunblock from a store in the park. I had heard of Panama Jack sunscreen before, but would this brand prove to be effective? Was the product greasy? Here is what we thought of the product.

Cost

The Panama Jack sunblock was designed with baby in mind. This fact may have slightly influenced the price. The 3 ounce tube of sunscreen seemed rather pricey at $9.95 to me, but keep in mind that this purchase was solely out of convenience at Kings Island amusement park. I am certain that the sunblock would be available elsewhere for less.

Protection

The Panama Jack baby sunblock is PABA-free and protects from both UVA and UVB rays. The protection from the sun really seems to be high-quality. When we put the product to the test, we were impressed. We only had to apply the sunscreen once for the hours of fun in the sun.

The SPF 50 level really worked for my family. With several light-haired people in the family, we have seen our share of sunburn in the day, but with the Panama Jack baby sunblock, this was not the case at all.

The Panama Jack baby variety claims to be highly water resistant, but during this trip we had no need to test that claim. My son does sweat quite a bit when he becomes hot and the Panama Jack sunscreen did not seem to run into his eyes at all.

Consistency and Sensitivity

I have tried numerous brands of sunscreen in the past. Many types of sunblock feel like a lotion rather than a cream. Although the thinner varieties seem to go on easier, the protection seems to fade faster. For this reason, I prefer the thicker variety of sunblock. Panama Jack baby sunblock really delivers. The product was thick enough to be protective and not slide through your fingers during application, but smooth enough to easily put on little faces without a bit of trouble.
