Love having that cup of coffee early in the morning, or any time of day? Well, coffee lovers can keep on drinking their cup of coffee. For those individuals that are environmentally conscious, there is a coffee farm-yes, a coffee farm.

It is a sustainable coffee farm, the type that believes in the Fair Trade. Some people may ask, what is a sustainable coffee farm? So, what is it exactly? In plain English, resources that are not renewable do not influence a sustainable coffee farm. Instead, it uses resources that are renewable if and when it is available. Speaking of taking care of the environment, it reduces pollution.

In sustainable coffee farming, the coffee husks are reused for fuel to become heated instead of having eucalyptus trees cut down. This process will allow new trees to be planted for those used in the course of heating or will carry out pollution with free coffee dryers. An example is the solar coffee dryer, which is on the Coffee Kids website, www.coffeekids.org.

Water also plays a very significant role with these farms. Not only it carries out practices for the reduction of water consumption, but it also cleanse the water that was in usage. Once the water from the fermentation has been utilized, the tanks must never be taken back to rivers and/or lakes. However, it should go through a natural filtering process through the earth and the usage should be for coffee irrigation. This appears to be a very tedious process just for coffee!

Although I am hardly a coffee drinker, I have always been fascinated by the growth of coffee. I always thought about Juan Valdez! Go figure.

Think that the coffee irrigation was the end of this coffee bean process? Think again. Let's take the Agribahia in Bahia, Brazil, which has one of the best coffees. Since Brazil has one of the strongest economies in the world, why not mention it! Anyway, at this place, the pulp in the coffee is developed without water temporarily before sending it to these machines. As a result, the water waste is decreased.
