The Buffalo Bills released tight end Kevin Everett; who suffered a spinal cord injury threatened his life and nearly made him paralyzed from the neck down. The move allows Everett to collect long term disability from the league; something he couldn't do if he was on a team's roster.

Seattle Seahawks linebacker Lofa Tatupu was arrested for drunk driving in Washington. His blood alcohol level was reportedly nearly twice the legal limit.

Chicago Bears middle linebacker Brian Urlacher skipped voluntary workouts and says he'll likely skip mandatory workouts over his unhappiness with his current contract. He has four years left on a 9-year, $56 million contract.

Former NFL running back Tony Hambrick has been sentenced to 5 years in prison for selling crack cocaine. He played five seasons for the Dallas Cowboys and Arizona Cardinals.

A grievance to determine whether Baltimore Ravens franchise player Terrell Suggs is a linebacker or defensive end was settled by creating a new position; defensive end-linebacker. The move means he will receive nearly $500,000 more next season but about $300,000 less than a true defensive end.

NFL commissioner Roger Goodell said former New England Patriots assistant Matt Walsh exposed no new evidence of illegal taping during more than three hours of testimony on Tuesday. As a result, he doesn't see the Patriots receiving any more punishment than they already have.

Shortly after Goodell's announcement, the Boston Herald, which accused the Patriots of taping a St. Louis Rams walk-through before the 2002 Super Bowl, retracted its story and issued an apology.

A woman called police and accused Bills receiver James Hardy of beating up his father. No charges have been filed because the father didn't want to press charges. Hardy was selected in the second round of last month's NFL draft.

The Oakland Raiders released defensive back Duane Starks and waived fullback Matt Hahn. Starks played in three games for the Raiders in 2006 and was released a few weeks into the 2007 season. The team re-signed him to a one year contract on April 15. Hahn was an un-drafted free agent.
