Animosity to you, O Lord, should never come from my heart.
You have not deserved it, nor render any action to engender it.
The days are toilsome, unpredictable, and cold
Yet I have no right, no precedence to hold a charge against thee.

To have my way is only a leisure; not to have it is common.
Nevertheless, You are my Redeemer whose knowledge excels;
Knowing the times, knowing the days.

I shall seek first kingdom of God, everything else shall be added:
Strength, hope, peace, and joy will run like a river with no end in sight.
Grant me Lord this praise unto You; hear me as I say,
No matter the birth of trouble or the presence of sorrow,
Praise will come in my youth, even when I am old and gray.

Animosity to Praise
