Each morning I pray. Each morning I am led to a 'Secret Garden' that is probably similar to Gethsemane. This beautiful garden is one where not only I, but also others, can begin to hear how to get well. This garden (Gethsemane) is where I go to have my heart, soul, spirit and health taught to me. I call this place 'the Secret Garden'. No one on earth can teach what I learn as I am being taught by the Great Teacher what He has specifically designed for me to learn.
Colleges, high schools and even grade schools are where we people go to teach our brains, ears and mouths. It is in normal schools that we learn to repeat what we are taught. We learn how to cope in the real world.
Here in this Secret Garden, one may find themselves at wit's end, but you will also begin to know you are at the beginning of The Great Teacher's wisdom. Take a moment in the chamber of your determination to trust. Please try hard to leave your old belief that you are ill behind you. Begin to create a life of a learning to serve others in some way. You may find that you are incapable of serving others by physically being with them. If this is true, then go and mentally and educationally learn all you can about the particular illness you believe is harming you. Become an expert in phobias or in the obsessive-compulsive disease, for example. Learn all you can about cancer or diabetes, or something similar (whatever fits your circumstance the most.)
Take your new education and begin to teach your findings to others. Create a website that brings the education you receive to others so that they too can do what you are doing. Maybe creating a website is not your 'bag'. Become a lecturer and provide others with the knowledge you worked hard to receive. While you are teaching others about illness, your illness will begin to separate from your body. Write poems about the things that plague you, or even a book of "all you ever wanted to know about fear and were afraid to ask." The key is to do something different.
