This is a response to “How to deal with the behavior of horrible co-workers” Published on September 21, 2006.

“How to deal with the behavior of horrible co-workers” is a brilliant and motivating piece that all 9-5 fulltime employees should read. Manda lays out truth in her article by accessing the behavioral patterns in these troubling persons. Her article is written in good detail and provides insight that many can relate to.

These horrible co-workers, truly, can make some experiences a nightmare for people. In the end, many of us have no choice but to deal with these people because of their statuses. If your source of revenue depends on the cooperation of this person, it can be quite a challenge for you. Several of these workers have obtained high-ranking positions and or are in position to terminate us if we fail to comply. Where’s the relief?

We often wonder just how these horrible co-workers are still employed with the same organization in the first place. How the hell do you act like that and still keep a job? Easy. They know who to do it too and who not too. It sickens us that we have to continue to meet with these people five days a week. Worst of all, when upper management elects them in charge it just highlights their egos.

Origin

The horrible co-worker was the new guy or gal who started two days before you and are telling you how to do your job. They enjoy and seek positions in debating and political type of roles, positions where they can feel adequately responsible. They have very few friends and dangerously low self-esteem, despite how they appear on the job.

Takeaways
  • Manda is right, they are jealous.
