The adult video/industry is one of those professions where politicians usually go to score political points trading against the indecency of the profession and how it was adding to the moral decay of America. Well, in the 2008 Presidential election several candidates have actually reached out to those involved in the pornographic arena. First, we had Larry Flynt holding a fundraiser for Dennis Kucinich's presidential campaign. A fundraiser which was attended by the Congressman from Cleveland who actually took the time to praise the self proclaimed "proud peddler of smut", Flynt would go on to praise Kucinich calling him a good friend who is right on the issue. Flynt and Kucinich apparently have known each other for over thirty years, given that Kucinich was the boy mayor of Cleveland and Flynt was raised there getting his start in the vending business. Vending is a long way from publishing Hustler magazine trust me.

Porn is something that people like Al Gore use to rail against during his time as a then centrist Congressman/Senator from Tennessee back in the 1980's. Gore was even influential in helping organize a group that many people said promoted dangerous censorship called the PRC. This group which railed against all kinds of sex, drugs and rock & roll was actually headed up the queen of the global warming throne Tipper Gore. Gore's previous obsession with porn doesn't seem to bother adult film star Jenna Jameson. Jameson was quoted in the National Ledger as saying that Gore would make a great President of the United States. Had Gore run however, apparently Jenna Jameson would have still backed the now fading candidacy of Hillary Clinton. When asked about it Jameson said that having Bill Clinton in office was goldmine for the porn/sex industry. Part of this was due to the whole Monica Lewinsky and thong underwear scandal that took place in the White House.
