Night falls ever dark, ever lonely
In the darkness I hear your call
Your hand reaches for solace in the light I offer, but falls as the light reaches out to you
Too hurt, too jaded, to untrusting of the light and the illumination it brings
Not trusting the light to fail and to engulf you in the darkness once again
Yet it comes
Everyday, every night like the dawn and the dusk
Ever brighter and unrelenting in it's intensity
It will always be there outstretched for you
Until the day you embrace it and feel the warmth of truth
And know you are loved and happy
The light is there to help you, warm you, love you
Making your daily troubles vanish in the promise of the illuminated tomorrow we share
It is there for the taking and for the refreshment of the soul
A belief once lost, now can return and make the heart sing for better days
And the sun-lit skies above the summer of our lives
