We have been watching American Idol for weeks and waiting for this moment. We have listened to Ryan Seacrest ask the question week after week in that distinctive voice and halting flow, "Who will be the next American Idol?" We have listened to the critiques and commentary by the three judges, Randy Jackson, Paula Abdul and Simon Cowell. Now, only two more shows left! What will we do with our lives when it ends?

The top two American Idol contestants, David Cook and David Archuleta are both extremely talented. I predicted that David Cook would take one of the top two spots; choosing between David Archuleta and Syesha Mercado was a bit tougher. Last night I really thought Syesha was going to make it. Her performances have gotten better and better each week. She looks more polished, and the songs she has been singing have been better suited to her personality. I am rooting for her to continue with a very successful career. When the show got to the top ten no matter who had to go at the end of the evening I was feeling disappointed for them. Each has tremendous talent and a terrific personality.

It is amazing how fast the public becomes captivated with the performers. This was evident when we watched clips from the visits the contestants made to their hometowns. The intensity and emotion coming from the crowds was amazing. You could tell it took David, Syesha and David by surprise too, each showed a genuine appreciation that was nice to watch. Tickets for the tour are on pre-sale May 14th - 16th, there is a link off the American Idol webpage. The tour starts on July 1st in Glendale, Arizona and ends on September 13th in Tulsa, Oklahoma. I hope the television viewing audience will be able to see some video of the tour!
