The 24th Annual Main Street Days Outdoor Adventure takes place in Grapevine, Texas May 16-18 featuring a BMX Stunt Show and carnival rides among other attractions. (Source: Fort Worth Child).

Hours of operation are Friday and Sat., 10 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. and Sun. 11-6. Admission is $6 for adults and $5 for kids 6-12 and seniors 62 and up. Weekend pass is $15 and souvenir weekend pass costs $20.00. Friday night from 4-8 there are unlimited carnival rides. Cost is $25 in advance or $30 at the gate. You can purchase a wristband and enjoy unlimited rides.

There will be a KidZone, 2nd Annual 10K walk, and Grapevine Vintage Railroad Excursions as well. All proceeds benefit the Grapevine Heritage Foundation.

In unrelated Texas news, in an effort to restore critical oyster bed habitat, 200 cubic yards of oyster sheller were recently blown into Copano Bay off the Texas Gulf Coast, according to Texas Monthly. Spring also brought an unusual visitor to the Conservancy's Lennox Foundation Southmost Preserve near Brownsville - a rare bird, the magazine reported.

In unrelated news, over in Orlando, FL, Jane Pauley will accept an award at the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) National Convention June 13-16. She will be honored for her significant national contribution in the fight against stigma and discrimination. The event takes place at the Rosen Centre Hotel.
