At some point during the day there is a struggle to take a breath and to move on to the next breath, but you do. You breathe as if only to reach the next minute, and somehow you manage and take that breath. Then that one breath leads to another and before you know it an hour has passed by. Then you take another breath and then it is time to sleep and wake up, to the next day to do the same all over again.

Ever sit back and wonder where
have you been, where are you now
or where are you going?

Life is hectic and very strange.
And in some way, shape or form
we are all the same.

Different lives, different stories,
different races, different genders,
yet still we all have the same agenda.

Spouses, children, family and friends
they all have such a valuable place in
our hearts and at the same time even if
in a small way they can tear it apart.

Good times, bad times, sad times
we all have them and guess what
we always will.

Holidays, traditions, birthdays, and seasons
they come and go how many of them
are remembered as each year passes by.

One day you look back and say the purpose of life is...what?

You realize how much was left undone,
how much we should have said,
how much more could we have heard, or
even things that should have never occurred.

Life is good, life is bad,
life is whatever you make it,
life is living in which ever
way you choose it.

Look around. Someone out there is thinking this very minute about all the things that still have to be done with every single breath that needs to be taken. Somehow you manage to get through the day whether good or bad and know that tomorrow is just a wink away. That is the purpose of life.

The Purpose of Life

Breathing every minute...that is life.

I just had a discussion with a friend about the value of time and finding the true purpose of life. I think we must seek to love and enjoy simply living. How many times are we running through life without seeking the time to just breathe. Thanks Mags this was truly thought provoking.

Great article....I often wonder about all kinds of things about life--especially its purpose..and MY purpose..I'll be working or in the middle of something...and ask myself---Why am I here?.....How did I get here?...Life has so many questions--Life is so full of unanswered questions, yet so full of beauty too---I think if we ever really knew all of the answers, or understood life itself--it would just be too hard for us to take in.... When I think too much---I try to just sit back and relax..and be thankful that I am here...for the moment.

I really enjoyed this except that I'm paying so much attention to each breath I take now that I think I am almost hyperventilating. I think I'll move on to another article...but yours was very profound and so true, too. From breath to breath....

It seems that we all have such hectic lives these days. It's easy to get caught up in the cares of the day and forget the bigger picture. Sophie
