Christmas is a very special time of the year, a time for Family, giving and celebrating Christ’s birth. It is more than just buying gifts for family and friends and going to the regular Christmas parties. It is a time of year where most people make a point to go out of their way to make someone feel special. Being that so many people celebrate this holiday in so many ways, there has to be a giant array of things to do. Knoxville Tennessee has a two-month long celebration for Christmas every year with a long list of events and activities around the city. There is never a shortage on things to do and places to see around the holidays. Here are my top three Christmas activities for Knoxville.

The Fantasy of trees, held on November 22-26 2006, is located at the Knoxville Convention Center and has been a holiday tradition for over 20 years. There is over 300 decorated trees to look at with different room scenes, fireplaces, and crafts all decorated by children at the local schools. This year’s theme is “Oh Christmas Treats.” This is a great activity for children. There is a lot of free activities as well as some that have a small fee. There is a 30-horse carousel, face painting, Frosty playground, and arts and crafts for the whole family. No holiday celebration would be complete with out getting to talk to Frosty and having your picture made with Santa Claus. There are also new shops dedicated to this festival where you can buy decorations for your own tree and plenty of treats. This will definitely be a sweet event. The best thing about the Fantasy of Trees is that all the proceeds from this event are donated to the Knoxville Children’s Hospital. You have a great time with your family and give to a real special cause. This helps so many of the less fortunate have a wonderful Christmas too. That is the main reason for this season that we all see to forget so easily.
