Solid State Drives or SSD's are the latest technology but up until now have been so expensive as to be out of reach of everyday people like me. Now a company that makes memory and flash drives just like the USB drives has come out with three Solid State Drives that are so affordable it is not funny.
Super Talent has a full line of old and new technology for sale at one site called Newegg that sells computer hardware and consumer electronics that looking at the page is really hard to believe. The prices for an older SSD with 128 GB are $3,049 while a newer Solid State Drive with 120 GB costs $699. The same price cut is available for smaller sizes like the 30 GB for $299 in the new while the older costs $519 for a comparable 32GB size.
This drop in price is due to the newest technology and how the company has been researching and improving the manufacturing process and has now found out better and cheaper ways to make roughly the same thing. This will continue to happen at Super Talent and other companies and you will reap the benefits of this cheaper and better hard drive technology in your computers soon.
I can quite easily see computer and gaming enthusiasts buying these 120GB hard drives for their operating systems and using them in RAID setups for the fastest possible systems they can have. This is not something that is a dream machine or just a new take on an old technology. Using Solid State Drives will improve computer and operating system performance significantly as well as other areas of improvement like size and noise. A Solid State Drive is smaller than conventional disc drives as well as nearly silent due to no moving parts so there are several other advantages of the newest technology.
