And the Winner of American Idol is . . .

The two finalists of American Idol are now in the running. Who are they? David Archuleta and David Cook. Below is an analysis of each singer and their ability to thrive in the music industry along with a final show prediction.

Singing Talent
Admittedly, both men can sing. What's the difference? David Archuleta has the ability to draw in a crowd based on vocals alone while David Cook has to use a few tools. It's a truth that the American Idol judges fail to bring out when they are busy praising him. If David Cook had sung the majority of his re-spun songs as usual, he would not have been so popular. On the other hand, David Archuleta has such a magnetic voice; he could sing a cappella and still wow the listeners.

Stage Presence
In regards to each David's ability to perform in front of a crowd, the prize goes to David Cook. His rock n' roll style is likened to many professionals today and adds to his ability to impress a crowd. David Cook is extremely shy and this, at times, erodes away at his performance. It is an aspect about his stage performance that he will have to work on in the future. So, he needs to make eye contact, dance and flaunt his "stuff" with confidence.

Physical Appeal
Who is sexier? David Archuleta? David Cook? It really depends on whom you ask. However, if you look at the trend that dominates the music industry, little Archuleta has the edge. His baby face will attract a wide range of fans where as David Cook's unique features might do just the opposite.

Record-selling Potential
Both men have huge record selling potential. Why? Each has a genre of music that they can enter today and dominate in. For David Cook, he could start making rock music today and be a success. On the other hand, David Archuleta could be a pop sensation with R&B crossover appeal. So after the show ends and a winner declared, both men will have bright futures in the music industry.
