May 16^th marks the anniversary of the first Academy Awards celebration. Oscar made his premier appearance on May 16, 1929.

May 16^th is "Free World Animal Day," an occasion for animal lovers to focus on saving endangered species, preventing animal cruelty and protesting animal abuse.

International Pickle Day

Have a DILL-ightful day on May 16th! After all, it's "International Pickle Day"!

While you are at it, why not celebrate food history and open a can of Spaghettios and SPAM? Both of these canned foods debuted on May 16^th.

Also, root beer apparently first appeared on this date. How about a can of root beer with your pickle, Spaghettios and SPAM?
