Love a Parade! Memorial Day Parades in the Cleveland Area

Cuyahoga County, Ohio, Abounds in Memorial Day Parades for 2008

If you love veterans, Little Leaguers, firefighters, antique cars, and high school bands, local Memorial Day parades are for you. Even preschoolers march! Catch a bit of Americana!

All of these parades are in Cuyahoga County on Monday, May 26, 2008.

Bay Village: Parade starts at 8:45 a.m. at Lakeside Cemetery.

Bedford: Parade Starts at 10:15 a.m. at City Hall, and travels to Broadway Avenue, then along Broadway Avenue to Bedford Cemetery.

Brecksville: Parade starts at 9 a.m at Brecksville City Hall, 9069 Brecksville Road, and travels north along Brecksville Road, west on Route 82 to Highland Drive, and into the Brecksville Cemetery.

Broadview Heights: Parade starts at 11:00 a.m. at the Church of the Assumption, 9183 Broadview Road.

Brooklyn: Parade starts at 11:00 a.m. The route is east on Biddulph to Ridge Road, north on Ridge to Memphis, west on Memphis to the Brooklyn City Hall Veteran's Memorial area. Ceremonies at city hall upon the parades arrival, followed by a picnic lunch prepared by the Brooklyn Police and Brooklyn Fire Departments. Proceeds benefit the Metro Hospital Burn Center and the City of Brooklyn's D.A.R.E. program.

Brooklyn Heights: Parade starts at 9:00 a.m. The gathering place for participants is the corner of West 8th Street and Tuxedo Avenue at 8:30, so one can assume the parade begins near there, and continues to the Community Center, where there is a short ceremony, followed by refreshments served by the Women's Service Club.

Chagrin Falls: Parade starts at 10:00 a.m., and goes from Chagrin Falls Shopping Plaza
to the cemetery.

Cleveland Heights: No parade this year.

Euclid: Parade starts at 10:00 a.m., at East 228th Street and Lakeshore Boulevard, then runs west on Lakeshore to East 222nd Street, then south on East 222nd Street to the Veterans Memorial next to Euclid City Hall - 585 East 222nd Street

Fairview Park: Parade starts at 9:00 a.m. in front of City Hall, goes east on Lorain Rd to the cemetery at West 194th Street and Lorain Road. There will be a service, followed by a pancake breakfast held by Relay for Life at Fairview High School.
