More than anything, the holidays are a time for family. During the fall/winter months, finding a child-friendly holiday event is never hard. Whether you want to take your child to the mall to be photographed with Santa, or maybe down to the zoo for a day filled with crafts, a parent has many options. A pet-owner, however, does not have the same degree of choice. Malls and zoos aren't exactly pet-friendly, unless your animal happens to be a Seeing Eye dog. For less profound animals, there is a lack of pet-friendly holiday events available for them, unless you happen to live in DC. In fact, for pet owners in the capitol, the sky's the limit.

Doggie Style Bakery is one such animal-friendly company that has created some exciting holiday events for pets and their owners. The company's creation is credited to two particularly demanding dogs, Monty and Oscar, who made it clear to their owners that they did not appreciate being left at home while they went off to work. After much brainstorming on how to spend more time with their dogs while still earning a paycheck, Doggie Style Bakery was born. Committed to creating healthy food for dogs, Doggie Style Bakery also encourages adoptions through fundraisers and other events. Their Howl-o-ween Costume Party and Holiday Paw' traits are two such holiday events that not only act as a fundraiser, but also offer dog-owners an opportunity to enjoy the holiday season with their pet. The Howl-o-ween Costume Party is Sunday, October 29th at 6pm. Tickets are $10 in advance or $15 at the door. Dogs must have a costume and will compete for Best in Show. Holiday Paw' traits offers pictures of your dog or cat with Santa. Pictures are $5 each and can be taken from 11am to 4pm on Saturdays from November 6th through December 17th.
