Why I Am Opposed to Ellen DeGeneres' Marriage

Yesterday a Court ruling in California announced that laws banning Gay marriage were unconstitutional and that effectively immediately marriage between any two consenting adults, regardless of sexual orientation would be legal in the state.

Within 24 hours popular talk show host Ellen Degeneres announced that she would be getting married and promised to announce on her show who her intended life partner would be.

Today Degeneres made the announcement and I am furious as a result.

I join with hundreds of thousands of people across the land in standing in opposition to this wedding! Something should be done. The ceremony must be stopped! It can't be allowed to go on!

Some oppose this marriage on political grounds. Others believe it violates sacred religious beliefs...while others just oppose it.

I oppose this marriage on the most solid grounds.....I have always considered Portia de Rossi to 'my girl', and now it's pretty obvious she isn't. From the first day I saw her appear on Ally McBeal I thought this has to be one of the most beautiful women on television. Tall and slender with long blond hair draped over one shoulder, head slightly bent to one side, a slight smile and a graceful gait......she always looked straight into the TV screen DIRECTLY AT ME!

While she never responded to my letters, I knew she cared......and I knew that she would wait for me.......

Until today.

I've been thrown over by another.............

Well, at least not by another man.

I wish her well.
