SKIN CARE

When it comes to skin care, some people just don't realize what affects the weather, pollution and diets have on their skin.
Fluids and a well balanced diet can help some but a good skin care routine is essential to healthy, fresh and vibrant looking skin.

Some things to remember when it comes to skin care:

Lotions - if you have dry skin, you should be using a heavy moisturizing cream but if you have oily skin, you should be using a light lotion. For combination type skin, you can use a light cream or lotion.

Sun Block - UV (ultra-violet) rays from the sun can not only cause cancer but it can damage the elasticity of the skin, causing wrinkles. It can also cause blotchy, dry skin, and if you burn, it can cause scarring.

The higher the SPF (sun protection factor) your sun block contains, the more UV rays it absorbs, keeping them from harming your skin.

Wrinkle and Age Spots - To minimize wrinkle and age spots you should minimize the amount of exposure your skin has to the UV rays by limiting your time in the sun, and when you are in the sun, wear protective clothing and use the proper sun block.

Give your skin a firmer appearance by using creams and lotions with AHAs (alpha hydroxyl acids). Using creams and ointments to moisturize the skin can help reduce dryness and cracking.

Acne - Keep in mind that if you have acne and are using cleansers with astringents, they can dehydrate the skin so you should be moisturizing with a lotion that is non-greasy.

MAKEUP APPLICATION FOR A NATURAL LOOK

The first tip to applying your makeup for a natural look is to use you brushes for their intended purposes to assure smooth and carefree application.

Foundation - Your foundation should be applied with a sponge. Dab the foundation all over your face, concentrating on the areas under your eyes, blotchy spots or anywhere you may need extra coverage. Now, smooth the foundation over your face using the sponge.

Blush - Using your blush brush, start at the hairline closest to your ears and downward to the "ball" area of your cheeks.

Takeaways
  • Taking care of your skin is vital to looking and feeling younger, healthier and more vibrant.
