This Democratic Presidential Primary will definitely go down in history as being one of a kind. Perhaps one of the biggest surprises has been the fact that there are still 2 people running on the side of the Democrats. It was thought that one or the other would have bowed out of the race by now...if for no other reason, for the sake of the Democratic party.

Yet Hilary Clinton and Barack Obama are both still going strong and both speak of planning to win the nomination. But facts are facts. And the fact is that Barack Obama is ahead and the delegates are going to him. With the recent endorsement of John Edwards, Obama picked up even more delegates.

Since Clinton's lie regarding hostile fire, she has lost trust among the people. A recent poll on www.buzzdash.com shows Obama at 55% or the people's trust as opposed to 24% of the people who say they trust Clinton. John McCain picked up the lowest percentage of 21%.

With each passing day, Obama looks stronger and more confident as Clinton looks more and more desperate. Not only does she look desperate, she seems a bit delusional in even thinking she can win. People within her own campaign have advised her to drop out, but she keeps holding on, claiming that she is going to win the nomination.

The question is...can she? Is it even a possibility given the current political climate? I just don't see her winning unless Obama does something really bad to upset the trust and confidence that people have in him. I don't believe any negative ads by the Clinton campaign are going to make a difference at this point. They are just going to be seen as desperate measures by a desperate candidate.

For awhile, the Clinton campaign seemed to hold out a lot of hope based on the fact that she did best in the polls which placed her against McCain. But lately, that just isn't the case. Hilary Clinton has done the Democratic party more harm than anything by hanging around as long as she has. The sparring between her and Obama has made McCain look good even in the eyes of some of the Democrats. And that is precisely what the Democratic party would like to avoid.

i can't believe that these three are our only choices. for president! for pete's sake. obama is scary to say the least. he wants to negotiate with terrorists and make us stop eating and driving suv's and hilary, well i don't know where to start there and john mccain. a liberal republican who is long past his expiration date. i can't believe these three are who we have to choose from. i'm not even voting. if these fools are the best the two party's have to offer to run the most powerful nation in the world, then i want no part of it.

To those who doubt McCain's "Reagan-ness", consider: Reagan also favored amnesty for illegals (granted in 1986), and he also did NOT build a fence.

Hillary and Bill are political masters - they know exactly what they're doing, and they know they can't win at this point. But, by keeping things going, everyone keeps talking about her and Barack, while the mindless majority forget all about John McCain. Remember, elections are usually won by name recognition alone - and Obama has a whole lot more than just that in his favor. If Hill keeps on, November will be such a landslide that it will take the entire GoP membership just to dig poor old John out!

yes too bad michelle obama wasn't as fair game as Bill until after the final delegate counts had been added. Obama has gotten such a free ride. If George Bush hadnt screwed up so badly Obama would never havbe been able to cruise the nom on media blitz alone. it is time for the American people to be just as disappointed in a black american president as a white one.

chronicler and Larry make some good points here. Anyway, why not let her finish the race? At least the people in the states remaining get to cast their votes.

Shamontiel is right on. They are all certainly imperfect - but some are more imperfect than others (apologies to George Orwell.) Better people simply do not have sufficient arrogance or hubris to even go after the job. They remain in the shadows or out in the open commenting on it.

Anya, what makes you think Hillary Clinton has experience? Because she was married to a president? So that means you think Chris Rock's wife could sell out theaters because her husband is funny? And Shaq's wife can be the best defense because she married Shaq? Marriage does NOT make you qualified. Normally I'd say Clinton should finish the race, but I'm tired of her lying about having more popular votes without pointing out that she told Barack Obama's alternates that they could leave since one state wasn't voting only to take those votes. And Moeursalen, even with the "huge losses," he still leads in the popular vote (MI did NOT have him on the ballot) and in superdelegates. He passed her right by, and she had a hundred plus lead on him.

...person. If Clinton wins, I'll take your spot in Canada. I don't think you'd like Canada anyway. They have a five-party system, a real democracy you see. Something that Clinton knows nothing about. As for Reliable1, personally I think it's crazy that YOU think it's crazy for Barack Obama to not be the best choice out of the lot, but hell, you're entitled to your opinion.

Stacy H., please tell me exactly what Barack Hussein Obama said that was arrogant or made him a bigot? Not what Reverend Wright said. What Barack Hussein Obama said. Please. I'd like to read this. The only thing that you could possibly say he said was that Pennsylvania folks are bitter. The economy is bad. Gas is $4.24. People are losing their jobs left and right. Education funding is low. There's a war going on. I'd say bitter is an understatement all over the world, and on Bill Maher's show, there was a motorcycle crew that said anybody with common sense would understand what Barack Obama meant. He was not trying to be facetious. The economy needs help. Why shouldn't Hillary run? Because she lies about being shot at, she doesn't point out that Obama's name was on the ballot in Michigan, she's now making snide comments about Kennedy being assassinated, she keeps saying she has experience even though it's her husband, and she was for the war. Clinton and McCain are basically the same p

Larry Rouse, you said: "If the Dems used the same rules as the GOP, she'd be the nominee. Also if you count Michigan and Florida she'd be ahead in the popular vote as well." No, she would not be ahead in the popular vote, first and foremost because Barack Obama was NOT on the ballot. How do you have a race against someone and say you're ahead when the other person's name is not there (Michigan)? Both states had their primaries too early, and Obama did not go to those locations. People could've voted for Clinton because Obama "bailed." Why do people keep saying she took Michigan's vote? She did not!

She is getting a little old.

It is apparent that the avowed McCain supporters are not from Arizona, and only know his media hype. Senator McCain almost bankrupted the entire state as a member of the Keating Five back in the '80s, was a carpetbagger in Arizona and never lived there, and supporters open borders which have resulted in the loss of many lives and much property and homeliness in Arizona, while supporting a 100 year war in Iraq. I ask you - how insane is it to talk about the 'threat' and terrorism from other nations, while leaving your own backdoor open - or a claimed War on Terror or War on Drugs when a great deal of the terror and drugs are coming in along Senator McCain's home border - while he goes to Hispanic Chamber of Commerce meetings in order to acquire votes at the cost of the true Arizona-American citizens. And Obama and Hillary also support open borders, for their own personal agendas and votes, not for the actual 'welfare' of the legal Americans - I guess until there is another 9/11 and

It is true with the amount of delegates she would need, the facts look like they are against hillary. I am expecting Obama to win this, but I think Hillary really should finish this race.

Good article Cheryl, and I agree whole heartedly with you. Thanks for having the guts to write an article that says what a lot of people are thinking, even though you probably knew you would get beat up about it.

Wow, all of you are bitter. Shame I wish your lives were better.
