Night in the Chat Room

I could not get to sleep one night. It was a little too warm and I could not get comforable in my waterbed. Even the fan in the window did not help much.

So I got up and went downstairs. I turned on my computer. I had been already on line earlier. I had spent most of my time deleting SPAM from my Inbox. I did not feel like doing that again.

So I decided to go into the Talk City Chat Rooms. I like the Business Center or "Biz Center" chat room. The people in there are interesting. They sometimes give good ideas for people wanting to start a business. But most of the time the people chat about anything else other than business.

There were only a few people here at this time of night. I was about to leave and check out another room when somebody whispered me. This is a way somebody can talk to another person and nobody else in the room can read it.

JBHunt: Do you want to chat? I am a little bored.

Green-eyed girl(that is me): Hi JB. I have never seen you in this room before.

JBHUNT: I just got on line last month. I work different hours and go on line different times each day.

Green-eyed girl: Oh. Where do you work JB?

JBHunt: It is a top secret government job. I am not allowed to tell you.

Green-eyed girl: I see. It is like my job. If I told you what I did, I would have to shoot you. (If he was not about to tell me where he worked, I was not going to tell him about my job. And besides I did not want to admit to anyone that I did sales over the telephone.)

We talked for over an hour,just chatting in general. Then I had to ask him a certain question.

Green-eyed girl: Do you have a girlfriend?

JBHunt. No, I don't. But there is one girl at work that I like. But I do not even know if she likes me.

I felt the pain in JB's statement. Because I know how it is to be in love with somebody and not have them love you back.

Green-eyed girl: Well the best thing to do, is to ask her. Give her a small present like a rose or something like that. Do not give her anything expensive because she might run away.

JBHunt: What if she does not like me?
