Dog the Bounty Hunter Returns to A&E
Almost eight months after the reality television show was pulled from the A&E network, "Dog the Bounty Hunter" will return on A&E June 25, 2008. Duane "Dog" Chapman allegedly made racial slurs while talking to his son on the phone. The allegations hit the news in November
2007 and the show has not been aired on A&E since. Chapman, a devout Christian, had many regrets for using the "N" word in a private phone conversation with his son and has since made several apologies on the air.
In related news, Duane Chapman, Tim and Leland Chapman were facing criminal charges of "deprivation of liberty" after capturing serial rapist Andrew Luster in Mexico back in 2003. On January 29, 2008, a three-judge panel dismissed the case and dropped all charges against the trio.
Starbulletin.com reported that in January 2008 at Ala Moana Center in Hawaii, Timothy Chapman allegedly fondled himself in his truck and nearly hit a security guard after stepping on the gas when he was asked to step out of his vehicle. Chapman's attorney, Brook Hart said the whole incident was a misunderstanding, claiming Chapman had spilled orange juice on his lap and was simply trying to clean himself off with baby wipes. Separated from his wife, Chapman had a change of clothes in his truck and assumed he had some privacy to change.
Stupidcelebrities.net and tmz.com both reported that Timothy Chapman will not be on season five's episodes after prosecutors charged Timothy Chapman with first degree terrorist threatening and was considering a charge of indecent exposure. Chapman is still present on the dogthebountyhunter.com web site. Whether or not he will be aired on the upcoming season five episodes is to be seen.
Reruns of "Dog the Bounty Hunter" begin June 25 at 9:00 P.M. ET on A&E. The season five premiere airs July 16, 2008 at 9:00 P.M. ET.
I really enjoyed watching "The Dog" and was disappointed when it was pulled off the air. I had since banned viewing A&E. I will resume watching A&E when "The Dog" airs. Everyone makes mistakes and nobody is perfect. I hope other viewers are just as forgiving as I.
