For the passed twelve years, Balliwick Repertory has performed The Christmas Schooner. The production is geared toward families, and tells the story of Peter and Alma Stossel and their dreams of America in the 1870’s. The production has music, dancing, and drama, and is said to be appropriate for audiences of all ages. Chicago Sun-Times says, “The musical production has themes of sacrifice and compassion woven throughout.” Due to the high demand some nights are already sold out, but there is still a chance some tickets might be available.

A free event presented by Lincoln Park Zoo, Zoolights features one million lights, a amazing water laser show, live ice carving, Santa’s workshop, and, of course, the zoo animals. If unable to make Zoolights, Lincoln Park Zoo will still be a great place to take children over the holiday season. Lincoln Park Zoo will be open Friday thru Sunday nights thru Nov 24- Dec 10 and, opened Dec 15-Jan 1, every night except Dec 24 and Dec. 25.
