The 4th of July is a day to remember those who have fought for our country and celebrate our Independence. But it is also a day to relax and enjoy life with family and friends while cooking outside, swimming and enjoying a few drinks. Most Americans will serving up beer or wine to their guests, but here are a few tequila cocktail ideas for those who want to offer something different.

Dark Coconuts -

This is a really nice drink to have on a hot day. It also comes out with more of a coffee flavor then any taste of alcohol.

1 oz. Margaritaville Tequila (original flavor)
1 oz. Kahlua Coffee Liqueur
2/3 oz. Dark Rum
2/3 oz. Coconut juice (or Malibu Coconut Rum)
Several ice cubes

Pour all ingredients together in a cocktail shaker and strain over ice in a small glass or martini glass. Add cherries for a fun twist and serve.

The Beach Bum -

Another favorite drink that ends up having a nice, lite Orange juice taste to it.

1/4 oz. of Vodka (your choice)
1 oz. Margaritaville Tequila
1/2 shot of Triple Sec
2 oz. Orange juice
Crushed ice

Pour the tequila, orange juice, vodka and triple sec into a cocktail shaker with crushed ice and shake for about a minute. Strain into a tall glass and serve.

Tequila Coke Surprise -

1 1/2 oz. Jose Cuervo Tequila
3 oz. Lemon juice
1 can of Coke
3 dashes of salt
Several ice cubes

Pour the lemon juice into a tall glass over the ice. Add the salt and pour the tequila in and stir to blend. Fill with amount of coke you would like and serve.

Mexico Meets Manhattan -

2 shots of Margaritaville Tequila
1 shot of Sweet Vermouth
1 tsp. of Lime juice
Several ice cubes

Shake the tequila, sweet vermouth and lime juice with ice in a cocktail shaker. Strain into a small glass over ice cubes. Add the slice's of orange and cherries to this drink for a little fun and serve.

Sangria Margarita -

This drink is best made in a large amount since making sangria is a large drink in itself. This recipe will serve 4 people.

8 oz. Margaritaville Tequila
3 oz. Triple Sec
5 oz. Sangria
2 oz. Lime juice
8 oz. Margarita Mix (you can add more or less if you desire)
