Firecracker 5000 Road Race and Family Fun Walk: July 4, 2008
The 23rd Annual Firecracker 5000 is both a road race and a family fun walk. According to the organizers, this is the "largest and oldest road race in Beaufort County."
The fun starts at 8am on Friday, July 4, 3008. Enjoy family fun, athleticism music, fresh fruit, and prizes. The location is the Mall at Shelter Cove on Hilton Head Island. Pre-registration is $30 and a portion of the proceeds benefits the Hilton Head Runners Club. Late registration is $35. For more information call (843) 379-3440.
Harborfest: July 4, 2008
During the summer, there are weekly fireworks show at Shelter Cover Harbor. There is a special 4th of July fireworks show on Friday, July 4, 2008. There will be music, fireworks and arts and crafts. This is a free event for everyone.

Fantastic Fourth of July on the River: July 4, 2008
You may also be looking for nearby fireworks in Savannah. There is a huge Fourth of July celebration on the waterfront, according to the Savannah Waterfront Association. There will be an ice cream eating contest, live music and more. The fun starts at 5pm with fireworks around 9:20pm.

For some weekend fun, purchase tickets to The Buddy Holly Story. The show runs through the end of July.
