It’s almost that time of year again, and here in North Carolina there are several great cities to spend your holidays in. One of those is Dillsboro. Dillsboro is a wonderful little town that is very typical of Western North Carolina. The town features buildings that have been there for, quite possibly, over a hundred years. The town is also filled with several little shops. You will find everything from chocolate shops to small souvenir shops. The people who live in Dillsboro are also very friendly and are the true definition of Southern hospitality.
Dillsboro is located about 40 miles west of Asheville, North Carolina. The town is really small and while it only contains a few businesses, it does contain the Great Smoky Mountains Railroad which offers several different train rides for the holiday season. The town also lights up beautifully at the holidays. As with Bryson City, North Carolina you will notice that the town of Dillsboro concentrates on the holiday of Christmas. This is true of most cities in Western North Carolina. But regardless, of whether or not you celebrate Christmas, you will feel welcome in Dillsboro and will find several things to enjoy in this small town.
