Decorating your house and lawn with Fourth of July colors is extremely easy. There's tons of different and creative ways to show your patriotism. All you need is a little time, a small budget, and the American spirit to get your home looking great for this national holiday.1) Flags in the Front Yard
One of the best ways to create a patriotic lawn is by placing small American flags along the property line by the sidewalk. Place the small (0.5 - 1 foot tall) flags two feet apart. If you use even smaller flags ( less than 6 inches tall), you can place them closer together. If you use larger flags (1-1.5 feet tall) place them further apart. A great place to find decorative flags is Home Depot, which sells the small ones for about a dollar. You can also find these flags at other home improvement stores such as Menard's or Lowe's and at other stores like Wal-Mart and Walgreen's.
2) Red, White, and Blue Flowers
Another creative and eco-friendly way to brighten up your Independence Day is by planting red, white, and blue flowers. These color flowers always look great in planters in the front or backyard. A personal favorite flower to use are tulips, which do need to be planted ahead of time. However, you can also buy hanging baskets with flowers that are pre-grown and you can easily plant yourself. Try different arrangements of flowers. All items needed can be found at local gardening centers. If you plant your own flowers, you will need soil, pots, the flowers, and optional gloves. Make sure you plant early (before 4th of July) to make sure that your flowers flourish before Independence Day.
