Situated in the centre of the New England state of Connecticut you will find the town of Glastonbury. Glastonbury is over 300 years old and its Main street oozes New England charm, creating a magical feeling during the Christmas season when snow covers the ground and colonial houses are adorned with fir wreaths and white window candles. Glastonbury celebrates the Christmas holidays with a number of great family events and activities. Here are just a few.

Pick and cut your own real Christmas tree
Wrap up the kids, stick on the snow boots and head to Rose’s Berry Farm where you can get started with the Christmas celebrations by selecting and cutting down your very own real Christmas tree. Rose’s Berry Farm offers two types of Christmas tree, Frasier Firs and Blue Spruce. When you arrive at the farm you will be provided with all the necessary supplies such as saws, rope, netting and even a map of the farm. The cost for trees in 2006 will be $40; this includes tax, netting and a disposal bag. If you want to get in early so you have the best choice of Christmas trees you can reserve your tree in advance. To do this head to the farm and pick out your tree, tag it and then pay your deposit of $20. You can then come back at a later date to cut it down. If you prefer you can even have someone at Rose’s Berry Farm cut and net the tree for you. Just give them 24 hours notice and your tree will be ready and waiting for you to take home. After picking out your tree head into the farm Christmas shop where there are loads of goodies to pick from that will bring that festive feel to your home. If you would like more information you can call Rose’s Berry Farm on 860 633 6001.
