The days are leaving me,
Moving at break neck speed towards
the final sunset of this breathless world.

Flutter in my heart and sweeping sadness in my throat
Do we ever hold a moment in this life that is ours to keep.

Or do we give them away with every step forward and every batted lash.

Hand through mist
Is this life within
and walked through meadows of fields of
butterfly dreams
dusk follows the flight and
Dips into valleys of grasping despair
This too shall pass

Only for a deeper darkness to descend
We all anticipate hope to sweep clean
All the sorrow and the wreckage
Until the day comes when the moon
Only shines for its own sake
And the people of tomorrow take over today
Pushed aside for life's own renewal

There lives a freedom in uselessness
Forced to abide and dwell until the days quietly
Disappear into the ether and I can no longer tug at the
Flowers or turn the pages or mull over a single idea for eternity.

"Do we ever hold a moment in this life that is ours to keep." Very nice thoughts. We hold all the moments for ourselves, if we can pause, be still, and understand.

It seems to me that instead of living our lives in alignment with God's purpose, many seem to live their life in the dysfunction of competitive servitude. It's simply no wonder to me why it's all turning out as it has. I suppose I'm thankful for my lack of social conformity. This was a really interesting post and I greatly enjoyed reading it :),,,,, take care and I wish you a good day, Shawn.
