If you’re looking for a romantic getaway with places to capture your artistic spirit and poetic soul, look no further than Santa Few, New Mexico.For culture and art, Santa Fe provides it all. Downtown museums include the Palace of the Governors where exhibits of well-renowned artists are seen. Many include the Southwestern history and themes of regional and international artists.
The Old Santa Fe Trail at the southeastern edge of Santa Fe includes a long line of exquisite museums. Folk art can be found throughout the Museum of International Folk Art. The Girard exhibit has a unique and unusual arrangement of international folk art and toys. This is especially enjoyable to children and families.
The state’s Laboratory of Anthropology, founded in 1931, has a collection displayed in the new Museum of Indian Arts and Culture. For Indian art such as jewelry, basketry, weaving and pottery, this museum is the place to roam through. It also includes quite a collection of both traditional and contemporary Indian art pieces.
Another museum for couples that enjoy art is the Wheelwright Museum of American Indian that offers Native American historical and contemporary art. The artists and their rendition of southwestern history are unique and interpretative.
After roaming through the various museums, a jaunt to any of the wide range of tantalizing eateries will be a delight. There are over 200 restaurants in the Santa Fe area, encompassing a unique blend and diversity. Every imaginable palate can be satisfied. It’s best known for its Mexican cuisine. Hometown Mexican cooking is a favorite for tourists and residents alike. European and Chinese restaurants are also very popular with exquisitely culinary fish and seafood, poultry, steak and lamb dishes. Truly, there’s something for everyone.
As for the weather in Santa Fe, couples will enjoy a 7,000 ft. elevation filled with sunny, warm skies during the four seasons. In the spring, tourists can expect crystal clear air and rain showers. In the summer the days are hot and the nights are cool. Fall is beautiful and crisp, and winters are white.
