I love my Nintendo Wii. My family and I can play on it for hours, even little children can play too. I do have to admit though that after my first few times of play my arms were quite sore. We were playing Wii Sports, the game that you get with the system, and tennis was kicking my butt. I think I felt my sore arm for at least a couple of days afterwards.

Using the Nintendo Wii as an exercise tool is great for any ages. They are even used in some nursing homes for exercise activities for senior citizens. With the games available for the Nintendo Wii it is possible now to get a real exercise if you don't feel like getting out and about to do your own. Here's how you can use it to get off the couch and get moving.

With the release of Wii Fit, you can now get a full workout that will track your BMI, and your level of activity. You can do Yoga and Pilates with this game to get in your physical activities. While it is an expensive tool at $90, it would be well worth it versus the cost of a gym membership. There are also additional pieces and games that go along with this one to add additional exercises. I recommend Wii Ski, where you actually feel like you are Skiing down the slopes.

Wii Fit is going to be hard to find in stores. Once you do find it though, you need to grab it up quickly even if you are remotely interested. I briefly played Wii Fit at my mother's house and I can tell you first hand that it is a blast. My hips are still hurting from hula hooping too much last night. It is a great way to burn some calories while having a lot of fun with it.

Another great game to increase your physical activity is Wii Sports. You can buy an accessory pack for the game and get a tennis racket, golf club, and baseball bat to get the real feel of the game. Make sure you have enough room to play so that you do not hit anything or anyone. Wii Sports comes with the Nintendo Wii system, and the accessory pack will run you another $30.
