Sweet Lady of May
Hi everyone...this poem is a personal statement about my faith. I wrote it from the depths of my heart. As a Catholic Christian, the Blessed Virgin Mary holds a special place in my heart. She has been featured in other works of mine, but this is the first time that I have written
something specifically about her. To me, she is a perfect example of how to live a good Christian life...with love, humility, charity, and above all, with an absolute faith and trust in God. The month of May is dedicated by the Church to the Blessed Virgin Mary.
She is as beautiful;
As an early spring morning;
My sweet lady of May;
The most perfect of creatures;
That God has ever made;
Within her she held;
The Savior of my soul;
Her faith and trust;
A perfect example to me;
Of kindness and charity;
And her continual praise of God;
Marked her life and her death;
She is the Mother of God the Son;
He has redeemed both her and me;
From the cross, He gave her to me;
And to all who love and follow Him;
She was the first to believe;
When she said yes to the angel;
Her body the first tabernacle;
And through the ages;
She has been called blessed;
From her place in Heaven;
I believe that she cares for me;
Like the ancient queen mothers;
Of many centuries past;
She brings the needs of her child;
And lays them at the feet;
Of her Son my King;
And from her place in Heaven;
She wraps me in her mantle;
Of motherly love and protection;
She prays for my well-being;
While gently leading me;
On the narrow path toward Jesus;
Whispering to my heart;
"Do whatever He tells you."
