the chill sound of his wordsas they spill from his mouth
leave me cold and empty
afraid of the sound
the warmth from his eyes
has faded away
like a flame that will flicker
and eventually stray
he stares through me
as if I were glass
the words beat me
my ears they do smash
as tears fall to the floor
from my eyes to my face
the stare grows harder
filled with much more than hate
my eyes see but my ears
do not hear
the words being spoken
fall on death ears
all I can see is no love
in his eyes
and the fear of the words
start welling inside
the fear comes up sudden,
bewildered, and strong
and makes me feel childlike...
Oh, where have I gone
why can't he see the cold
he displays
shouting and yelling,
...the bully's at play
the attacks are all words
there's no marks to hide
tommorrow will heal the hurt
that's inside
