Imagine this: You wake up and it is June 15th, you have pressed the snooze button in hopes of sleeping off the effects of a previous night. Stroll up to the kitchen table and see dad being showered with gifts, you check to make sure it's not his birthday, suddenly it dawns on you that it's father's day and you have no gifts to give.

The point of this article is to not only make sure that this doesn't happen to you, but so you can give your dad the great gift he deserves. After all he did spend afternoons listening to you cry over mashed banana baby food while trying to watch the game.

Here are five great items that will cover hopefully every type of dad and spark your imagination to make this Father's Day a memorable one.

Gift Number Five: Cologne

They are often bought gifts but still effective year in and year out. Is your dad the type of guy who must ALWAYS wear cologne before he goes out? Or shaves every day and always combs his hair in that nice and neat comb over? Then this could be the gift to get him this Father's Day. Cologne is something that gives a man character, draws attention. There are a few great scents that cater to every nose and for all price ranges. A personal favorite of mine is 'Explorer' by Ralph Lauren; it mixes a hint of acidic with musk to blend two quality types of cologne. It can however be on the pricey side of the scale; this is where you take into account designer scents that have been on the shelf for a while and being overtaken by new ones. Calvin Klein cologne 'One' has been out on shelves for a while hence its drastic drop in price. Its punctual summer tones make you noticed in a crowd of women that's for sure. This is just one example of how searching for designer's older scents can save you many dollars for, in a lot of cases, better smelling cologne.

Another tip is to shop at a perfume and cologne store that buys their products wholesale as they will pass their savings on to you unlike big chain department stores.

Gift Number Four: Gadgets

I got my dad a RC helicopter for Christmas and he loved it! Dad's like toys too.
