"We've been starting this band since we first picked up our instruments and started learning how to play. We feel that this band is a culmination of all of our previous efforts and that we have all finally attained the sound we've been looking for. Though technically, we have been together since the fall of 2004.
Jesse and I had worked together in the past and we ran in to each other and decided to make something happen. Dustin and Justin had known each other for a while but had played with separate bands. When those bands were done, they started jamming every once in a while and also wanted to make something happen. They found Jesse and I on westmichiganmusic.com and they came out to rock.
We had a few practices in Jesse's basement, but we knew that wasn't going to work out very well. We decided to create a practice studio in my place here in Holland, so instead of practicing we built a comfortable soundproof jam room. That took a few months to complete, so we really didn't get started until early 2005.
Once we started playing we realized just how well we were working together and that every thing we were looking for in a band was happening right in front of our eyes. We were all sick of the stupid shit we were hearing on the radio and weren't excited about the whole Limp Bizkit/Linkin Park 'metal' scene.
Our favorite stuff came out of the 80's and 90's by bands like Clutch, Guns n Roses, Black Sabbath, Deftones, Pantera, Misfits, Rancid, Soundgarden, Iron Maiden, Helmet, Stone Temple Pilots, Black Label Society, Slayer, Prong, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Rage Against the Machine, Alice in Chains, Suicidal Tendencies, and the list goes on.
But by no means does this mean we are 'stuck in the past.' We are just using our influences to hopefully create something new, original, and enjoyable for people who miss that kick-ass old-school hard-rock/metal."
