Golf can be the best game in the world and the most frustrating, all in the span of about 15 minutes. It can be an addiction and an aversion, depending upon who you talk to. But in my opinion, golf is one of the greatest games ever invented and I can't think of too many other ways I would rather spend a sunny afternoon than on a golf course. And with the huge advances in golf club gear in the last 10 years, golf has become much easier for the beginner simply due to the golf clubs. Clubs have become larger and easier to hit so that more amateurs can actually enjoy playing the game. Today, you can purchase golf clubs that will help you fix just about any swing flaw you have without having to change your swing. So as you are looking for new golf clubs despite your skill level, here are two tips to buying a new set of clubs that have paid off in huge ways and allowed me to take my golf game to the next level.

First, ignore the "name" on the club - So many of us think that the more expensive the club or the more recognizable the name, the better the club. This really couldn't be further from the truth as pros have told me time and time again, it is all about finding the right club to match your swing. It doesn't matter if the clubs cost $300 or $3000, the golf clubs that help you hit the ball better in spite of the name or the cost are the clubs you should buy. So when you are shopping, don't necessarily decide you are going to buy Nike irons because that is what Tiger Woods plays, but hit as many different irons as you can to figure out what club fits you best.

Secondly, get help from a pro to figure out what clubs fit you best. Most pros are excited to help any amateurs get better. And part of playing better is having clubs that fit you. So don't be afraid to ask the pro at your local golf course for help. If you can, have them watch you hit balls to help you figure out what type of loft, lie angle, and shaft flex are going to be best for your swing. If you do this and your pro knows what he is doing, then I think you are going to be happy with the clubs they recommend.
