Every dad is not a techno-geek, master chef, or sports freak. I know several super Dads whose favorite pastime is hanging out around the house in their favorite recliner or on the couch. There's nothing wrong with a Dad who likes to come in after a hard day's work and kick his feet up.

Father's Day is the perfect time to show your Dad appreciation for his hard work and let him know you understand his need for a little couch time. There are a variety of Father's Day Gifts ideal for the Couch Potato Dad.

Get all of Dad's television gadgets in sync with a universal remote. Go ahead and do him the favor of setting up the remote to work with the television, DVD player, IPod, TIVO, etc. Your father will appreciate being able to kick back on Father's Day with instant access to his favorite television programs.

Prices for universal remotes vary from $10 to over $50. The most important thing to look for is a remote that is compatible with all of dad's TV viewing devices.

Add an extra perk to your Father's Day gift by providing plenty of batteries with the remote. There's nothing worse than clicking away on a remote with no power.

Another great Father's Day gift for a Couch Potato is a set of his favorite television shows on DVD. Current popular television series include House, Lost, Survivor,Bones, and Grey's Anatomy, among others. Any father who is a true Couch Potato will appreciate a season of the Simpson's; Dad may have a soul connection with Homer.

Take your Father's age into consideration when buying a collection of television DVD's. Some dads will appreciate shows that are only a few years old like JAG and Walker, Texas Ranger. You can also purchase episodes of classics like Bonanza and Gunsmoke, or new comedy classics like Home Improvement and King of Queens.

Save a little money by giving dad a movie or two for Father's Day. The $5.00 bin at Walmart is my favorite place to start when looking for guy movies. Muscles, actions, and villains gravitate toward the $5.00 movie bin.

Good ideas! Some of we dads even remember TV shows older than Bonanza! (and they did not star dinosaurs!)
