Sneak Peek Preview: Miley Cirus Will "Breakout" with Her New Single "7 Things" on June 17th
Miley Cirus is a hit with teens and children all over. She was once known as Hannah Montana, and on June 26th, 2008, she released a double album featuring songs as Montana, but included a disc with songs by Miley Cirus.
Due out July 22nd on Hollywood Records, the "achy-breaky-heart" daughter will release her new record entitled Breakout, her attempt to breakout more as an artist. Cirus did however have her hand in writing 8 of the songs on the Meet Miley Cirus side of the
release last year, giving her more credit at such a young age.
Now upcoming is her new single "7 Things" from the new record. Miley Cirus also co-wrote this song and it describes things she hates about a boy she likes. Produced by John Fields, it's a pop rock anthem that shows a more edgy, young teen who knows what she wants and is mature beyond her years.
The song starts with just a nice acoustic guitar smothered in pop verses. But don't think it's going to be a simple pop song. By the chorus, she gets all Avril Lavigne on us and rocks the chorus out. Clashing the verses with the chorus, it makes for an interesting twist and is reminiscent of Lavigne's earlier angry days in 2002. The verses are also reminiscent of Natalie Imbruglia's smash hit "Torn" from the 90s using subtle vocals against the clanging of the strings.
She lists seven things she hates about the boy. She hates his games and how vain he is. She also blasts he's an insecure person. Though she's slamming him for his faults, she continues the chorus with "the seven things I hate the most that you do/ You make me love you," showing she's in love with him and she just wants to be with the person she knows.
It doesn't stop there. Miley takes a breather for the bridge, saying there are great things about the guy too but it would take too long to write. So instead of talking about the seven things she hates, now she's telling him the seven things she likes about him. It's puppy love when she sings of his eyes and his hair then letting us know she's caught by his kisses. The guy makes her laugh and cry and still the seven things she likes about him is that he makes her love him.
